Why does appoint our cars with candmium bling remind me of the Italian guys I know—- that wear all that I have obviously arrived —-  Gold Jewelry  for some reason ? LOL !!!
Opening the hood to an engine compartment done in all  candmium coating would be a very different and Wow kind of an experience for anyone looking at the car anyplace it might be

Never saw anything like that and might be a better replacement for the more common chrome custom parts Huuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm!

The coating really goes well if your car is Seara Gold  Jason — I would be thinking

I have the nose apart on my 64. I discovered that Cadillac made extensive use of gold cad plating on underhood hardware. After all the years that have passed, most of it would be worn away, but you can still tell how items were plated by examining hidden surfaces of the part in question. Very few of the bolts and washers under the hood were not so plated, and these are usually the really small screws, like the ones that hold switches and resistors to the heater box.

On my car, when I pulled the brake booster to paint the firewall, I discovered that it was actually plated silver cadmium from the factory. Most that I have seen were gold cad, but I have seen originals on some GM cars that were silver. In my case, since my car is an unrestored survivor that I intend to drive a lot, and lacking time, I am cleaning my hardware as I go and using Eastwood coatings to simulate the plating. With this approach, going light on the coats is a must. Sparkling clean parts are also a must. Glass bead, or use a wire wheel on a grinder or drill to clean. It is not as nice as the freshly plated hardware that Jason had done, but it is still better than corrosion. If you have a show car, or are doing a body off restoration, real plating is definitely the way to go. There is no suitable substitute in such a case. Find a plating service in your area, or perhaps you can make a deal with Jason, while he still has items on hand.

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…
