Has anyone purchased parts from a Cadillac parts supplier in California called Cadillac King.
He has a roof from the windshield to the trunk for 1300.00
Just looking for some feedback.
Thanks
Fred

$1300 for what is basically a piece of scrap metal sounds like criminally overpriced to me.
Indeed, The issue is of course being able to come pick up. Cutting out the roof would actually be quite easier than say a rear qtr. As far as price I will sell a complete car carcass for a fraction of that price.
I hate to judge dealings with anyone on one instance but I have had one dealing with them (Cadillac King) and it was not good. They called me up wanting a 64 THM flexplate, and had a reasonable price and gave them total with shipping and payment details. About a week later they called me and asked where their flexplate was? I indicated I had been not paid. They indicated they would send payment once they received the item. I said.. "Retail doesn't quite work that way!" LOL. It not only seem fishy, but it seemed really bad smelly fishy! LOL I have since steered clear of them.
On the other hand, I have had good relations with USA Parts & Supply, Kanter, OPGI, McVeys, and Rock Auto. At this point if I had one issue, I would still highly recommend them as I have had dozens of positive experiences. So maybe it is harsh to judge CK by the one instance way back and perhaps they have changed.. but man, that gave me a very bad impression.
Thanks Everyone,
I don't know how urgently you need this but I think the best way to approach it is to search your local craigslist and the like ads until you find someone parting out a car and see if they'll sell you the roof section. Chances are you'll have to chop it off yourself with a Sawzall. Again, you'll very likely be paying a small fraction of $1300 for one.
My next parts car is tentatively a 63 Coupe and should have it around mid August. You are in PA and I'm in NC... not that far down the east coast, and would sell the top for $100 once stripped and it is decent. You can pay me to cut it off or you could show up with your own cutters. If not in a hurry and can make a road trip down to NC I can put you on my Wait List.
Their customer service is very lacking. Be prepared to have no idea where your part is or if it's even been shipped after you've paid for it. Phone calls go to voicemail and emails unanswered. Prices are very high but they had the exhaust manifold I needed and it was in decent shape.

Good Morning all!
I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…

I'm having my steering sector rebuilt, and considering changing it from 20-1 ratio 4.2 turns lock to lock to 3.5 turns lock to lock @ 16-1 ratio, If i change from a 3 1/4" box to a 3" box i could have a 14-1 Ratio steering response would be faster, shorter distance to turn the wheel to get a response, has anyone done this? and how do you like it? thank you

I've looked at the usual rubber sources but couldn't find any.
