Today I’ll like to bring awareness, and hope to help prevent future headaches.
20years and they still got my order wrong !
At Cadillac King i spent over 1400$ on parts. I specifically told Tom the model of my caddy.
1964 Cadillac Sedan De Ville -6 window.
I drove from Oakland to Pacoima, When I got there he didn’t had my stuff ready. Himself and even his workers started going around like crazy looking for my items. Tom knew I was going out there so this was a bit unpleasant. So 30 mins later they had it all , i took a look at the parts to make sure they were good quality. They loaded them up and I left. I get home the quarter was correct and other items but the door they gave me was incorrect.
The door is the same height and looks exactly identical . It was only when at the shop while fitting and actually comparing the doors with a tape measure it was revealed that he gave me the wrong door.
On top where the door makes that sort of U wave, it’s smaller than my 64. It’s off by one inch, my 64 is four inches and this door has 3 . Also On the side where the door meets the inner door rocker it’s different shape.
I call Tom and let him know.
Now take in mind that this is a private own junkyard in which you place an order and they will get it for you.
Not a junk yard where you walk in and take off what you need.
I specifically told him my model and what i wanted to buy.
Tom gave me some correct items but not the door. So obviously he knew my Cadillac style
This here is not my fault ! But I should have check them , and I did . But the door so easily mistaken, specially when you gather the items last me for me.
He agreed to give me my money back , since he doesn’t have my door, he wanted me to take two doors apart to make on door like mine. But I want a real 64 six window sedan rear door.
Meh wanted me to wait till he has an order up here to come for the door and give me a refund. Well it’s been six months and no refund .

Now he wants me to drive from Oakland to Pacoima AGAIN ?!
Just to get store credit ? I don’t need no more parts except a rear door , and they don’t have that .
I’m requesting full refund 375$ and for him to pick up his wrong door. They have 20+ years of experience! There should be no room for such error.
Tom doesn’t answer no more and now I’m looking to open a small claims.

If any can trade me for a 1964 six window sedan LH rear door, that would help me a lot.
You did not state how long a ride you had to take to get to him
I do think it is your responsibility to get the door back to him so he can issue a store credit to you
You picked it up so you should return it —or ship it back to him
You will be needing something for your Cadillac in the future if you have it for the long haul so you can be using your credit then

Why does it matter how long time he drove? And if you really wanna know he stated the towns he drove between.
Fact is he got an incorrect part. A good supplier would go out of his way making it correct. Imagine Russ or Jason doing something like this, not that it will ever happen as both know the 63/64 cadillacs. They would send the correct item right away.
I think Edward is doing the right thing by warning. Maybe the so called King of Cadillacs will read this and change his way of doing business.
I live in Southern California and am quite aware of this place. I have never dealt with them because they are notoriously expensive. Having said that, I would certainly expect a place called Cadillac King to get you the right parts.
It matters how long he drove because I asked him the question
If that’s unimportant to you — bud out !
If you have a different opinion that’s fine but do not question what I ask or why !!
There is little chance most people would return someones money on a purchase if they do not return the part
It his responsibility to get the part back to the guy which is my point
What's the saying if you have something positive to say you can make it public, but if it is negative keep in private. I can say I have had overall very positive results buying parts from USA Parts, Kanter, McVeys, OPGI, and a few others but will just say I cannot recommend Cadillac King. I'm guessing 15 years ago they contacted me for a 1964 Flexplate, as they needed one for a customer, and I told them, yes, I have a very nice piece gave them a price and they emailed me back and said ship it to their address. I said "I'll be glad to, but I will need payment for the part and payment for shipping!" Didn't hear back from them for a few days and they contacted me and asked where the flywheel was? I said I have it and will ship once I receive payment for flywheel & shipping. They said they don't do business like that. I said well if you can get businesses to ship you stuff without payment you are a better person than me because for some odd reason everyone I buy things from want payment. He said OK and hung up! Even if I was stupid enough to ship a high demand item with no payment for item or shipping I seriously doubt I would receive any payment! The entire interaction just seemed shady. Perhaps it was just an isolated incident with someone that didn't understand how you buy and sell things, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Three people on this site have had issues with —-Cadillac King including our main man Jason
Maybe we should have a place on our site to list business that use Bad business practices and should be avoided ?
Tony, No I don't want to have a "bad list". We have a good list.. that is our Parts Supplier Page. I shared my one story and my reason for steering clear of them. If I see reports where they are on the up and up and members have overwhelming positive experiences I would reconsider them. So I broke my rule about not saying anything bad publicly but did want to share my story.
I agree, there should be a way to stop shady business.
They have done it to a lot of people and will continue.
I spoke to the BBB , they also had two more cases like mine against Cadillac King. But unfortunately after many attempts to communicate with Tom , they couldn’t do much but recommend me to small claims court , file a motion with it . So that he can bring his fraud, inhuman self up here.
I also spoke to the Department of Consumer Affairs, and they mentioned that since my case is no industrial size , and is not technically a category they handle. The only closes category to automobiles would be something like car repairs , recalls , or car purchases , etc. But not anything related to the buy of a vintage auto part.
We are seeing a definite trend of Cadillac King being a problem even for the limited exposure we get on our site
