Hello there cats and kittens. I replaced my intake manifold gaskets on Saturday and now the car won't idle. It will start and run for the amount of fuel that I pump into it from the accelerator, or if I keep my foot on the gas it will stay running but it won't idle. When I took off the intake manifold I left the carburetor on top of it and turned it on its side to clean the gasket material from the bottom of the intake manifold could I have done something to the carburetor by turning it on its side?
You might spray the shim location with water or starter fluid to see if you have a vacuum leak ( air leak into the manifold ) if you can get the engine to idle or run for that long before you pull it apart to confirm a possible air leak
Might save some labor
