New Cadmium Plated 5/16"-18, 1/2"L, Spinning Lock Head - $3 each <-- Click for More Pictures

These bolts are raised ridge head, "anchor" stamped, 5/16"-18 thread, 1/2" long from bottom of bolt head or 7/16" from bottom of spinning head. The heads have an open/gapped area that serves as an internal lock washer. I have seen them on battery trays, and around the front clip of the cars sparingly but not consitent in one area or the other. I am guessing these were also used on other areas of the cars. I call them battery tray screws but sure they have many more applications. I have about 42 of them and selling at $3 each. If you need them email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com

New Cadmium Plated Heavy Duty Wire Clips - $2 Each

I have heavy duty wiring clips usually found under the dash attached to the firewall cardboard to secure the antenna cable and other larger cables, with New Cadmium Plating for $2 each. These are very strong, stout clips and can be used for many other applications where you need to secure a cable or wires.

I am selling original 1963/64 Cadillac 5/16"-18 Ridge head, & Serrated Flange Head bolts, with Self-Tapping threads with New Cadmium Plating for $2 each. Almost all are 3/4" although I have a few at 1" and a couple at 7/8".

As of right now 99% of the small to medium fasteners I had gold cadmium plated has been sorted, priced and posted on my Facebook page at this link:
The only thing I have not posted are the larger 1/2” and 9/16” bumper bolts and nuts which are currently being sorted and grouped.
All of the specs are there with every fastener. If you see something you want, email me at jasonedge@nc.r.rcom and let me know specifically which pieces and we can get a total on price with shipping.

A NOTE ABOUT CADMIUM PLATING: Cadmium is a whitish-silver color that is applied with an electroplating process. The gold shown in the photos is the result of a gold or yellow chromate conversion. In the 50s, chromate solutions became available so that metals treated could be clear, yellow, gold, and olive. Many found the yellow and gold with their iridescent red, green and blue coloration attractive. Many platers call this Yellow-Gold Rainbow Plating or simply "Rainbow Plating". The finish is more commonly referred to as gold cadmium plated or yellow cadmium plated. You can add a chromate conversion to any plated metal or unplated metal. The chromate conversion increases the protection provided by cadmium plating.
All of my larger items have been “rack plated”, while the smaller fasteners are “barrel plated”, both with the cadmium plating base with the gold chromate conversion. To be clear, this IS Cadmium plating and IS NOT Zinc plating. I have had questions about whether or not this plating will affect bolt and nut thread size. For all practical purposes the answer is no. The old cadmium or other based plating is stripped from the old fasteners, then the new plating is applied resulting in basically the same size thread. It is of course always a good idea to chase newly plated threads with a tap & die before installing and torqueing.
