Courtesy Light Hot Wire and Door Jamb Switch.

Good Morning, I have a 64 sedan deville. I have a question regarding the always hot wire (red) that powers the door courtesy lights. My passenger doors both work fine. The drivers side don't. my ground (black wire) has continuity from the light all the way to the door jamb switch, so I know that's not broken. I did have a spot that looked broken in the red wire (in the door jamb), so I spliced and heat shrinked that. Before I covered the splice I checked continuity and that was fine.

My question is, where does the hot wire for the front door courtesy light generate? I traced it into the car from the door jamb, and then it heads down into a bundle of wires (with the original cloth tape) and then heads down to the floor and to the back of the car? I want to check continuity but can find where it gets power? any suggestions?

On our 64 convertible, the power source of interest was a relay located behind the drivers side kick panel.

Also the door panel switch on the drivers door.
