• After letting the POR-15 cure for a couple of days I installed the large front body to frame cad plated fasteners and rubber bushing on the left driver side of my 64 CDV 'Dino' this evening and am pleased with the results.  For the rubber bushing I left the one above the frame alone as the body really needs to come up off the frame to get it off. On the lower bushing I have a LOT of them and picked out the 4 best and cleaned and really saturated with WD40 for a few days, which tends to soften them up. I probably could have just used oil, or perhaps there are other products for this but picked out some pretty good condition bushing and think they are good for many years and miles. I was tempted to by new, but that is a slippery slope and decided to use my stash of bushings.

Here are the pictures from above and below with the cad bling installed!

Jason,

     This really looks great!

Installed the other (passenger) side last night and again looked great. Since I have some really nice rubber body mounts that sit above the frame, I did try to push the body up off the old bushing enough to get it out but it hardly budge, even with a jack directly under it. This is very different from when the front clip has been removed ... I can literally take a pry bar and  raise body enough to slide them out. The front clip installed attached tot he frame and body sort of locks it into place, and there is hardly no movement.  So, the upper body mounts were left in placed, and I again used some really think ones on the bottom (as seen picture above) from my extensive stash.   If I ever did a frame off I would replace all bushing. You have to fight your battles.

I think next I may go rearward behind that right rear floor pan section. There is a metal body brace that I have cad plated and chomping at the bit to see that in place.

I still have to clean the gas lines and see what I got!

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
