I have a stock 1964 Eldo. Can anyone tell me the best disc brake kit to purchase ? I am interested in converting front and back and would like for them to be the same manufacture. I have read the recommendation on the ABS kit, and Jason pointed out the Kanter kit, but I'm still researching some others ?
Question: Should both front and rear rotors be 12" or can the rears be 11" in the conversion kit?
Lou, you would be wasting your money with a 4 wheel disk brake setup, unless you plan on auto crossing your car. The stock brakes are very good, with the exception of the front pulling left or right with the brakes out of adjustment.
The disks up front solve that problem. One thing to consider is if you want to run the stock hub caps or not. Most of the kits will have to have a wheel spacer and longer wheel studs added. They are not included in the kit. there is a kit with 11 inch disks that will take the stock rims I believe.
