Question:

When I bought my latest 64 Eldo, the tires were covered with a paint like substains? After I cleaned the wheels and the tires a few time the coating is starting to diminish. Does anyone have a good cure for keeping the tires fresh and new looking also how to prevent dry rotting the tires?

Do not use armor all

Best to drive the car that helps.

Good info here http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1657903-what-good-way-...

Before products like Armoral ,i use to use a black tire paint ,made just for that purpose ,that made the tires look clean and fresh
That might be what you may be looking at
It would wear off after awhile and fade out kind of evenly

Just for looks ,no UV protection ,i know of

I use spray nine. I spray the tires down and give them a scrub with a brush and pressure wash them off. I do it on all my cars and truck at the car wsh. they turn out black like new.

I also use spray nine to clean them periodically during the season. Every fall just before I put it away for the winter I rub down the black side wall both inner and outer with Rubber Re-new

from MG Chemicals can be found at electronic supply places. Also works well to preserve weatherstrips and door jamb boots. My door jamb boots are perfect and 54 years old and I attribute them lasting this long to the Rubber Renew

I found a diagram that illustrates the main factor in determining a spark plug heat range that I was trying to describe to you during the chapter get together.

Here it is:

The main factor is the length of the ceramic insulator from the middle of the spark plug to the tip (where the spark happens)

The insulator…

Lower Front End Ball Joints

Posted by Logan Robb on May 11, 2023 at 9:04am 7 Comments

Good Morning all!

I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…
