Edelbrock 1406 Carburetor + Parts For Conversion For Sale

Gentlemen,

After 31 years I have sold my '63 convertible. Long story short is I got a price I believe was very respectable considering the market right now. That and I am moving on to finish my other project which I have owned even longer, 40 years, my Sunbeam Tiger. Bottom line is I don't have room to garage both of them and all of my other stuff and I wasn't making any progress on the Tiger. It is a rare car and a ton of fun so all of my efforts are going towards it now.

I have some extra Caddy parts left over and will attempt to sell them here. First up is an Edelbrock 1406 conversion I never got around to. I have the 1406 which I bought used off of Craigslist. It was described as having low run time and that looks to be the case. Beyond that, I know nothing so it is sold as-is. I have fabricated the TV rod plate discovered by Mike Daly in this thread - https://6364cadillac.ning.com/forum/topics/edelbrock-1406-carb?xg_r...

I also have the adaptor I purchased from Russ Austin that allows the original air cleaner housing to be used and a Trans-Dapt TRD-2446 recommended for this conversion that are included in the sale. This is the majority of what is needed for this swap.

Excellent summary here: https://6364cadillac.ning.com/forum/topics/edelbrock-1406-1411-inst...

$275 plus actual shipping cost. I'm just trying to get my money back.

More photos available if needed. PM or email me at ozzie90249@yahoo.com

$80 plus $8 Priority Mail shipping for all 3. The spacer and air cleaner adaptor were just test fitted so are essentially new.

I will offer them in order of response so Shelby Guy gets first dibs.

No response from Shelby Guy so MIKE, you're up now.

Thank you Ian but I just fabricated one. Have a safe new years.

$80 including Priority Mail shipping. Anyone?

All parts have been sold.

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…

Can you help? Driveshaft Question....

Posted by Chris on May 30, 2021 at 8:55am 1 Comment

Hello!

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…

V.I.N. where?

Posted by Robert Pellow on April 18, 2021 at 1:41pm 6 Comments

Where can I find the V.I.N. on a 63 convertible?  The usual space at the base of the interior windshield on the driver's side has been decimated by weather.
