Oh geez, a few on here have numerous other classic cars and last weekend I bought a bit of hybrid one.
Its a 1961 Austin Lancer (looks near identical to a Morris Major Elite) which are a Pommy derived thing built here in the great land Down-Under. They are only little, but have fins and chrome.... so pretty cool.
I got it off a 70 year old guy and his wife for a song, as it does require a paint job and few odds and ends sorted, as it hasn't seen the blacktop in 14 years.
The crazy bastard has fitted the car with a 2 litre, single OHC twin plug engine, 5 speed manual, a Ford Cortina diff, Fiat disc brakes and the list goes on. Its got massive sway bars, lowered and was setup for hill climbs.
The best bit, is its been Mod Plated by our Transport authority, so rego will be a doodle. I can't wait to get this thing on the road. This thing be slicker than a Teflon coated turd off a chrome plated shovel.
At least now, I have something else to play with..... apart from myself.

I always wondered why people would put a sticker on the bumper... Now I know.
So what did you sing to force the elders to part with the car? Theme from Godfather?
Geez mate, that's a bit harsh...... :-)
A few weeks back, I needed to remove the two front seats. Stuffed my big friggin melon under to see what was involved and there was a jar under the seat. Long story short, it looked like it was full of washers or something.
Got it out, 1 x $100 note, 2 x $50 notes and 3x $20 and four dollars in loose change.
Now, I was very, very tempted to keep it, but I knew when I bought the car, they didn't have much money and I didn't give them anymore than I had too either.
So, being a good little boy, I rang them, got their account details and returned the $264.00
They were very grateful...... but i'm still waiting to see any good karma yet, days later I was down with the flu and i'm still struggling...... good karma my arse.
Always took you for Ebenezer Scrooge
How wrong I was.
Regarding the karma. You where suitable rewarded. The plan was ebola but you only got the flue. And the only one struggling is your wife Astrid. She has been struggling since day she met you. So be thankful please. ;-)
Geez, you're in good form this week Anders.... ha ha ha ha ha
Well once in a while the coin drops all the way. :-)

New member here so be patient with me. New owner of what I would consider a rat-rod 63 caddy. Previous owner painted everything flat black, in an obvious attempt in covering up body deficiencies. …Continue

OK. Here's a new trivia. There is at least one main standard (non-option) item that one could "delete" on a new 1963 or 1964 Cadillac for a reduced cost. What is it? For extra cigars, what is the…Continue

If anyone here is familiar with the show "Bitchin' Rides" they started work on a '64 Eldo on the episode that aired last night (12/5). I really like the show and they build some amazing custom…Continue

So my 63 guide matic headlamps stay on low beam all the time. I have so far bypassed the system and everything works normal. I have been thru the trouble shooting in the manual but this is where the confusion begins.on my car when the power relay is powered I have low beam and when its not powered I have highbeam, this appears to be opposite what the diagnosis says should be correct. The wiring is all original and no wires have been mixed up.has anyone ever unplugged the 2 wire connector…

Having tried both the II and III I can say the multispark feature of the III offers a smoother idle . It is also easier to install .Does not require removal of the distributor

I hope someone can help solve these two electrical problems that appeared one after the other.
By way of background: The car, a '64 Eldorado has very limited use. It was at a restoration shop for 15 months until last January- that supposedly did a bunch of wiring repairs including rebuilding the gas gauge that still hasn't worked properly, and the clock that hasn't worked, and re-soldering the broken wires in the drive door. All window and seat controls appear to be…
