Looking for some help on a jetaway transmission. I had to replace the detent spring/roller on my transmission and to do that I had to remove the parking pawl assembly. Well apparently I did not look at it close enough, because I can not figure out how to put it back together. If any one out there has any good pictures of that part of the transmission it would be greatly appreciated.

I did a similar conversion with my '64.  The TH-400 was probably easier to fit as all the linkage hook up holes are pre-drilled and tapped in the body and it easily retrofits into a car that had a Jetaway like mine.

I went with the 400 instead of the 700 because I installed a 1969 Cadillac 472 and the 700 wouldn't take the additional horsepower and torque. I do have a 700 behind my 327 in my '61 Chevy and it is awesome! Better fuel economy, smoother shifting and much more fun than the two speed cast iron Powerglide.

Turbo 400 is probably the very best transmission of the era! They were used behind all Cads after 1964, Big Block Chevrolets, and most high end GM cars.  When my Jetaway bit the dust, conversion to the 400 was the only way to go for me.

Dale Earnhart was just interviewed and they asked him which car he liked driving the very most from his collection

I know Chevy has given him Corvetts in the past as he drives for them and surely that boy could afford to own any car he would like to

His answer was his --1967 Cameo

Thought you would enjoy that very much holding that ride in a very special place yourself

After all it had a lot to do with wining your very favorite girl at the track

Enjoy

Stuck at two red (dash) lights!

I hope someone can help solve these two electrical problems that appeared one after the other.

By way of background: The car, a '64 Eldorado has very limited use. It was at a restoration shop for 15 months until last January-  that supposedly did a bunch of wiring repairs including rebuilding the gas gauge that still hasn't worked properly, and the clock that hasn't worked, and re-soldering the broken wires in the drive door. All window and seat controls appear to be…

Dash removal

Posted by Jake Mickley on October 9, 2019 at 12:06am 9 Comments

Hello everyone,

On a 63 CDV, if a guy wanted to remove the entire dash to get all the metal painted, and do some other things behind there, how would he go about doing that?  I checked here and the shop manual, but can't find a complete guide.

As always, and help or direction is appreciated.  Thanks!

Introducing myself

Posted by Gary Marchand on October 7, 2019 at 9:32pm 8 Comments

Thanks for letting me join the club.  Picked up this ‘64 Coupe Deville a few months ago out of Beverly MA, the car has few stickers on it from various Cadillac clubs, didn’t know if anyone might recognize it from it’s “Glory days.” Everything seems pretty healthy except for the body and some very Mickey Mouse repairs, was wondering if anyone had any leads on…
