Hello All,
I hope the weather has improved and you have those 1963 & 1964 Cadillacs out. I am into my 2nd full month cruising around with my 64 Coupe de Ville – “Dino”, and looking forward to a car show this Saturday, May 5 near Charlotte, NC with the Carolina Region Members. Since I do not have a member car feature story ready to share, we will not have a May Newsletter and will instead provide a few updates as follows.
1963/64 CADILLAC CHAPTER SPOTLIGHTED IN MAY SELF-STARTER. The 1963/64 Cadillac Chapter is spotlighted on pages 12-16 in the May issue of Cadillac & LaSalle Club Self-Starter magazine. Several member Cadillacs are included in the article, so check it out... you might see your Cadillac! Special thanks to Chapter Liaison Bob Crimmins, Self-Starter Editor Steve Stewart and Art Director Tim Coy. And thanks to all of you for making this a Great Chapter!
2018 Grand National Just Around the Corner --> Chapter Meet-Up, Thursday, June 7 from 6 to 10pm I have set aside Thursday, June 7, 6-10pm, for an informal Chapter Meet-Up in our hotel suite at the Embassy Suites host hotel. This type of casual meet-up in the hotel suite, worked well at the 2016 Las Vegas Grand National, and of course you can come and go as you please. If you are attending the Grand National and have not already contacted me with your event details, email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com. For more details check out our April Newsletter.
Newsletter Feature Stories Needed!!! As mentioned above I do not have a member Cadillac feature really to roll out, but, I do have 4 partial member Cadillac feature stories waiting to be completed. Most are held up due to the fact they are northern cars and owners are still waiting for weather to break. So.... I have no complete stories, and would love to get at least one more newsletter out before I head off to the Grand National in June, so send in your story with pictures! Make sure pictures are hi res, with a nice background and don’t crop out part of the car. One thing I do as Director & Newsletter Editor is check out members as their Cadillacs are featured. Nothing would please me more than to feature every single member 1963/64 Cadillac .... so get those stories with pictures submitted.
Last Month’s Newsletter Feature Car & Story Revisited Since we do not have a newsletter & feature car this month, we will keep the focus and Matt & Les Eastling’s 1963 Eldorado. If you did not get a chance to read about this 12 year father-son project and see how this car went from 1st to 2nd picture below, be sure to check it out at www.newsletters.6364cadillac.com In fact, Ray Bombeck’s 1963 Fleetwood 60 Special featured in the March Newsletter; Matt Hostrander’s 1963 Coupe de Ville in the February Newsletter; and David Cottons 1964 Sedan de Ville in the January Newsletter were all fantastic stories and encourage everyone to go back and check them out if you missed them.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
