They say any car breaks down to about 5000 parts when you get down to the fasteners, and smaller items. Having parted 46 1963 and 1964 Cadillac Donor cars completely out I can attest to those numbers. I've been selling parts for 20+ years now and estimate I easily have over 100,000 parts. Most of my parts are in 2 parts sheds, in the garage down stairs, upstairs, and attic, and a few things in our cookhouse attic. I also have a large overflow area now where I keep parts dry in large storage bins and under heavy tarps. With nice weather coming around and a customer coming for parts tomorrow, I unwrapped some of my over flow parts. Anyway, as much as I have in buildings I have a lot of stuff in the overflow area and thought I would share the extent of the parts hoarding!!!!

Below are a few pictures I took. One day I will try to get pictures of all the inventory! LOL

So one day some "lucky" family member will have to sort this out!

Looking on the pictures I am starting to think about Dr. Phil. Maybe he will have room for you in one of his programs, a program about obsessive hoarders? ;-) (Was intended as a joke).

You have to consider this is only a fraction. The 2 parts buildings are literally filled to the gills!  I call it organized chaos!
ps..here's just some of the 75 series stuff I pulled for a customer coming tomorrow.

I call Dr. Phil! ;-)

When you call him tell him, I will have a core 1964 body and frame to sell him in a few weeks. The real incentive for Dr Phil is this: Tell him that I will have the remaining 4,998 parts he needs to put the car back together and if he buys the core body and frame I will sell him each of the remaining price at 1/2 Price! As my dad would say, that's a deal you can't beat with a stick!
Yeah, Baby!

Haha. :-)

Geez Jason, Seeing all those Caddy bits, all organized and toe tagged...... I think i'm getting a little excited.... you know..... down there. Good job though.

I appreciate the parts you have accessible to us, but even more for the wealth of knowledge you have and the open forum for us to all help and learn from one another!

I tell ya what Tony, Jason has got to get rid of that goofy passenger door external mirror on his car. It just spoils a perfect car and being the nice guy that I am, i'd take that goofy looking mirror off his hands and fit it to my  Fleetwood. Geez, i'd even send him a couple of nice chrome bungs, one for the outside and one for the inside to fill up the holes. Maaaate, I can't be nicer than that.

Kevin, Ha Ha!  Actually that right side mirror was one of the reasons I started bringing in parts cars. When I bought  my 64 CDV Nov 13, 1996, the RH antenna mast was broken, and the previous owners kid had somehow sat on or pulled on and broke off the dealer installed RH mirror at the base. Back then USA Parts sold them for about $129, and I bought one. They also wanted $99 + s/h for just the antenna mast. I thought, wait a minute, I can probably find an entire car for a few hundred bucks... which I did.

At the bottom are pictures of my very first parts car I had brought in in early 1997.  Note my dad on the right in 2nd picture. He was my partner in crime until he passed away in 2005. That car had had its top crushed by a tree from Hurricane Fran that hit NC in Sept 1996. I found this car in Zebulon NC, just down the road. There is a fun story here about this car, ... maybe in a newsletter, but the thing is that after about 2 quarts of oil, some brake fluid, starting fluid and a battery it fired right up. Windshield wipers flopped back and forth with window busted, seat worked moving back and forth crushing through several inches of water and small tree branches in the floor board. I thought geez... .you cannot kill these old cars.

We had fun driving the car around the yard... especially my dad who you can seen in the 3rd and 4th picture below!

Anyway, I will share more of that story sometime but here are some fuzzy pictures from that first parts car from 1997:

Yeah, thanks Jason. Further to this parts list Jason, what are some of the dealership offered options that were available. I know in the 50's you could get perfume dispensers and that sort of thing. Does anyone have the full list of options for a 63/64?

Kevin, There is a Cadillac Accessories Manual that is usually stuck behind the owners manual in the owner manual pouch found in the glove box. I thought I might have scanned and posted it here to the website, but do not see it and will put it on my "to do" list. I do have an extra copy for $10 + s/h if you are missing yours. Just shoot me an email to jasonedge@nc.rr.com .

Speaking of passenger sideview mirrors, Did anyone else see this one on eBay back in January? I was watching it and it was around $200 with less than a day to go and then the serious bidding started...

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
