As I was documenting the non-AC 63 Eldorado parts car I bought in a couple months ago, the solid panel dash end panels intrigued me and thought I would share a couple of pictures and thoughts.
First, most people think all or most Cadillacs with AC, but it was optional on all body styles and only 66% 1963 Cadillacs came with AC.
Second, you would still assume the Eldorados would have AC and I am guessing most did, but this one did not! Just to note I have never found accessory % breakdowns by body style, only across all model year Cadillacs. Ward's Automotive Yearbooks were the main reference book and they just do not dive any deeper than model year.
As a reminder the 1963 Fleetwood 60 Special and Eldorado came with Philippine Narra wood veneer panels on the dash, doors, Rear Qtr (Eldorado), console lid (bucket seat cars), and the back of the bench seats.
Part of the fun of pulling these old cars apart is seeing these differences and this was definitely a new one for me..

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
