When to start the 64 convert —-only to be hearing a clonking sound and the engine did not turn over
My gut feeling was that it was the starter solenoid —by the sound —so got myself prepared to possible be replacing the solenoid or rebuilding the starter motor
To my very good fortune the car was in the garage and I was not stranded someplace
In the process of removing the solenoid wires I saw that one of the terminals was not as tight as it SB to the solenoid casing
Both nuts in front and behind the wire terminal on the lower solenoid terminal were not as tight as I suspected they should be
Put the wiring back together —-with the thought if I got lucky —-I might have found the problem
Hit the starter —and she fired right up ! ( always good to hear that Barrrrrroooooomm !! ! )
I should go play Lotto or something today
Saved me a lot of time and a few dollar - and made my day —all at the Same Time !
Some days are surely better than others —and I am smiling a lot today
The weather in North Central FL is 75 -80 sunny and dry so very glad the problems was solve quickly and I am back —-to Enjoying my Pride and Joy
The weather hear is outstanding from now until April (do come on down ! ) with the exception of a few colder days and nights here and there that will get down to freezing for a few hours in the mornings but then the day will be 60 degrees
The reason I chose to retire in this very wonderful piece of paradise and sporting around in my Classic Antique Cadillac —-with the top down in the best possible weather
I am still ———-SMILING a LOT !
Enjoy

I found a diagram that illustrates the main factor in determining a spark plug heat range that I was trying to describe to you during the chapter get together.
Here it is:
The main factor is the length of the ceramic insulator from the middle of the spark plug to the tip (where the spark happens)
The insulator…

Good Morning all!
I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…
