On here all the time and can tell you that there is not much info on this site regarding the replacement Chevy engine you are installing in your 429 Cadillac
No detail info here on the engine swap you are doing —-that I know of
Enjoy
Mike, I swapped an ls engine into a 69 Chevelle and used a few of the Holley products to get it set correctly.
I suggest you look up Holley, com LS swap site to get started.
You will want to look into oil pan, motor mounts, transmission choice as they help position the basics.
The size of the LS engines are common to other GM engines and transmissions of the era so you should find options.
For engine /trans wiring I chose to buy new harness rather than try to modify the original GM 5.3 engine/trans harness and it turned out to be a very clean installation.
Mike,
Found that Performance Systems Integration PSI located in Brick NJ provided a nice engine /trans Wiring kit for the engine/trans combo we used. I basically viewed the conversion as if it was going into a 2012 Camaro,
So that helped getting a trans cooler/radiator setup and many other details done.
Hope to see what you do to get that into the Cadillac!!!
Micheal
Do please keep us posted on the Chevy engine swap you are installing in your Cadillac
All posts on this site are stored in a library on this site for future reference
Sure others thinking about the swap you are doing would be interested in any detail info you can provide on your project
Then we will have the info you were looking for at first on hand for anyone who wants to go in your direction with a swap
Sure a 350 to a 502 Chevy might be a real nice swap ( I have seen more than one LS swaps into our year bodies )
It getting all the stock creature comforts to work off the new engine that could get complicated
You will need HP ( no problem with a small block Chevy ) and possibly cubic inches to to move these heavy car bodies around as you might like
I find this thought interesting as I am a Chevy guy and the 64 429 engine being a one year engine ( changed under hood parts location in 65 ) those engines must be rebuilt or replaced at some point in the future when no longer available
A 350 small block worked to the max and rumbling under the hood of one of our cars might be a sight to see ( and hear ! )
Always a fan of the sound of a good race engine
Enjoy

I found a diagram that illustrates the main factor in determining a spark plug heat range that I was trying to describe to you during the chapter get together.
Here it is:
The main factor is the length of the ceramic insulator from the middle of the spark plug to the tip (where the spark happens)
The insulator…

Good Morning all!
I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…
