I got my parts in to replace gasket on the 63 cdv oil pump that is leaking.
reading in the manual, it says to remove engine front covers described in 2a.
that is a BUNCH of steps to remove the gasket and the two sets of gears, or am i over reading that and should i just stick to the disassembly while its on the engine, those 4 cap crews look easy enough access, and proceed to disassemble then reassemble under 5b and 6a
secondly, i received the PS pump and two new lines.. pump off ok,, pulley off ok,, but those hoses back on the steering column are a real bear,, any suggestion to get those loose, only thing at this point i can see to do is cut the metal piping at at the nut and slide a socket over it,, is there a easier access to pop it loose,, i have put some nut buster spray in it to sit all night,, see if any easier tomorrow.
Sincerely
Kim

Hi again, well, bored with TV, i went out to check plugs. puled two n each side.
they are wet on the threads, but dry on the tip or spark spot. i also did a check on the spark on another plug location besides #1, and it also had spark
int really notice any flooded smell after a couple times to start, soon,,, looking for more tips and suggestions,
thanks again
any thoughts at all on what i should test or do next to get this thing started? i just dont have the mechanical knowledge to know where to go next. I dnt know if its the temp ignition starter i have put in, or if its related to the clacking noises of the other day, i just dont know where to turn next. one day it starts perfectly, next day, dead battery and no start,, makes no sense at all to me
i checked the fuel lines and undid one at the filter,, i am getting fuel at least to there, what could be next,?
i tried the hot wire test,, same result,,, turnover but not fire,,
will wait on starter b4 fooling with it again,, thanks,
NEW VIDEO!!!!! damn thing,, started!!!!
i went back out, bored,, hooked the wires up again, thought would ck sparks,, i put in the old flamethrower coil, no spark,
put in a new generic coil to fit the 63,, and BAM!!! started with the hot wire method, hell, i have no idea, going to go back and try the flamethrower coil..and just see if it will start.. but the original problem was the clacking,!!! when the starting showed up
anyway, attached is a video, short, but i think you get the sound it making,, as that was the initial thing, before it quit and wouldnt start,, let me know wheat you think of the clinking and clanking,,
i can say its idling higher her in the south at 300 feet than in MT at 6000, on cold start, dont know if that makes any difference at all to anything, just throwing that out there for fodder.
ck video, see what you think the racket is,,
That sounds like lifter chatter.
is that good ( i doubt it) or really bad,,
i went back out an hooked up the flamethrower coil,, no start,, hooke up generic, started, so i guess the coil got over heated during the battery drain,, hell, who knows,, anyway,
i let it run a little more, and i hit the gas in idle, it sounds like at the end of the push of the accelerator, as it goes back to idle, it kind of puts out a pop pop, like mini back fires,, two quick little pops,,
anyway, thats all i have for today, i am tested out,, any thoughts on the days events would be very helpful..
sincerely
Run an engine oil cleaner and then a fresh oil change with marvel mystery oil added into the oil.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
