Polyurethane Replacement Trailing Arm Bushings

Is there an interest in a polyurethane bushing that could replace the stock rear bushings without the need to change trailing arms? Just wondering.

There are no polyurethane bushing that  will work ( unless something has changed ) regarding them as there was a very extensive discussion here in the past about that subject which is located on this site as all posts go into a library here

There is not enough metal on the arms ( to cut ) to allow for the size poly bushings that are available from what I remember 

The only solution we have is a guy who is making new arms with poly bushings in them but they are not stock looking but not very noticable under the car when installed 

All other bushings on the market will be—- very very short lived as they are the same no matter who you buy them from ( only one supplier )

Not currently available doesn’t mean they can’t be produced.

I am looking at getting a bushing made that will fit the stock trailing arm and use the same polyurethane bushing that goes in my replacement arms. I don't think I will be able to match the aftermarket bushings price but should get close hopefully. On top of that, mine will work!

I'd be interested and as word keeps getting around that what bushings are currently available are junk, I believe many more would be interested.

Are you considering using the existing bushing shells already installed on the arms and just replacing the innards?

The sleeves will be newly machined as the old sleeves are difficult to reuse as the rubber is vulcanized to them. I'm getting quotes right now on the replacement sleeves. They are a little more intricate than the straight sleeves I make for my replacement trailing arms so I think it's best to farm them out. If I could get $150 USD for a set of rear bushings I think I would be comfortable placing an order with the machine shop. As with my trailing arms, I will pay the brokerage fees and customer pays for the shipping. The current bushings go for $120 USD a pair. The nice thing about my replacement projects is that the urethane bushings are easily replaced with off the shelf parts. I ship the trailing arms with the bushings in their original boxes so the customer has the replacement part number and info they need to get more should the need arise. I would do the same with these. If this works out, maybe I could expand to the other suspension bushing.

Well, I'm never one to stand still so I have been pounding the phone lines with local businesses and the polyurethane bushing supplier. It looks like I will be able to put out replacement bushings for the rear of the stock trailing arms for $125,00 per set. Should have them ready to ship in a week or so. At that price I will likely have to pass on the brokerage fee which shouldn't be too much, maybe $10. I will confirm that with my shipper.

No, it's $125 for two big end bushings, the part that the aftermarket has failed on. If it seems feasible, I may try and make replacements for the other bushings but will need to see how this goes.
