Looking to reupholster the seats on my 64 Coupe Deville, and it seems like most suppliers skip over the ‘64 when it comes to seat upholstery. A lot of seats I see for a ‘64 have an armrest built in the front seat, but mine is just a standard split bench in the front... but has the armrest in the back. The front has been reupholstered before, is there a chance I have a different year front seat, or that I different year cover will fit? Put some pics up so you can see what I’m talking about, thanks in advance for any advice.

Excellent
I’ll give ‘em a buzz Monday. Thanks!
When we bought our 64 convert it had a, 6 way, front seat WITHOUT the armrest( from a 63).
We swapped it for a ,6 way, front seat with the armrest.
A 64 CDV should have the arm rest in the front seat
Someone has swapped out your front seat at some time in the past so that is why the seat cover you see with the arm rest for the front are correct
Enjoy
- 1964 Coupe de Ville has center arm rests on front and rear seats.
- 1964 Series 62 Coupes only have arm rests in rear seat.
--> The seat pattern of the rear seat picture is definitely original series 62. Fronts look reupholstered Series 62.
I'm guessing you have a Series 62 Coupe. They have VIN # that starts 64G....... The CDV has VIN 64J....... There are many tale-tale signs from the interior. You VIN should be on your title, insurance paper work and is stamped on frame at front and on lower left side of engine and often on dealer service plate on driver door jamb. Body Plate on top left of cowl will have body style code --> 6257 for Series 62 Coupe, 6357 for CDV. For more info on see VIN and Body Plate on our Help Page.
Here is a comparison of the Series 62 Interior vs the CDV:
1964 Coupe de Ville:
Yup looks like it is a 6257 body plate, but a 64G VIN code. Would there be any other reason other than the armrests that suppliers wouldn’t list the 1964 seat covers?
That's a Series 64 Coupe, not a Coupe de Ville.
Jason is the last word on this model identification stuff
Sorry for misleading you with my post
Enjoy
Can you take a picture of the body tag, or post the first 3 characters of your vin? that will tell the tale.
Sure Russ here it is
You have a series 62 coupe, not a Coupe deVille. The front seat is correct for the 62 series cars.

I found a diagram that illustrates the main factor in determining a spark plug heat range that I was trying to describe to you during the chapter get together.
Here it is:
The main factor is the length of the ceramic insulator from the middle of the spark plug to the tip (where the spark happens)
The insulator…

Good Morning all!
I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…
