Last year SMS had a 25% off sale.  Knowing that I was going to recover my seats I ordered material for them. I had order materials to do the door panels 3 years ago and they had my folder with a sample of what they sold me. Well I went to recover the seats and opened up the material to find it to be wrong. The receipt clearly stamp to “check material for correctness with in five days”.  Now I need to find out what year and color I have so I may resell it.  Ideas or help? Thanks Dave

I would first contact SMS customer service and explain the situation, emphasize you are a prior and future customer, and ask if they would swap out of you cover all shipping expenses. Might be worth a shot.
If that doesn't work, you can post pictures of the sample here if you think it might be a 63/64 Cadillac material, or on the CLC Forums (wwww.forums.cadillaclasalleclub.org) if you think outside our year range. It might be a good idea to post on both sites regardless.  We can look at our interior sample books and perhaps match what you have.

Thank You Jason for your ideas. I am in contact with SMS and they are asking the owner about my situation. I been waiting 10 days for a reply and I know they are slow in all respects. I am working on plan B. Dave

Update.  SMS contacted me and is attempting to solve the problem! I will keep everyone updated. Thanks Dave

Caddy members, I’m upgrading my 64 2-door coupe deville.

motor guy lost my block (machine shop went under) so I’m replacing motor & tranny with LS conversion. I have motor parts (other than block) for 429, rebuilt transmission, converter, and too many other motor parts not needed with fully dressed LS going in.

Email me (Tom.reichenberger@ipsper.com) or call me (210-739-4854) if you’re interested…..I live in San Antonio, TX.

thanks, TX…

Trunk Open and Lock Mechanism is in Closed Position

Posted by Chris Anderson on September 13, 2022 at 7:14pm 7 Comments

While working on my trunk lock on 64 Cadillac, I mistakenly closed the locking mechanism while the trunk was open.  Is there an easy way to manually release the lock back to the open position?

Thanks.

Fuel Pump Failure

Posted by Jon Shields on August 6, 2022 at 6:48am 4 Comments

Hello,

I'm located in Melbourne, Australia and my 64 sedan de ville is stuck in the garage due to failed mechanical fuel pump. The first after market mechanical fuel pump lasted a few years before it failed & left me stranded 5 hours from home. A hire car and tow got us home. On inspection, I noticed a valve not seated within the housing. I was optimistic, pressed it into place and assumed the pump was good to go. But alas, no. From what I can now determine, the diaphragm pushrod…
