Hey guys I'm in search of the molding that runs around the back lip of the car that the convertible top cover snaps on to when the top is down. The previous owner eliminated 3 snaps and replaced them with screws (really bad decision) and seems as though the holes are to big now. Also seems as though the factory incorporated the snap into the molding somehow as there is no screw head in the middle. The snap measures 2.88 mm or .113 inches.
Any info is appreciated!
The manual shows how to remove this trim piece which, strangely, has the snaps as a part thereof. Then obtain appropriate replacement part. Or, I am am going to do, drill out the affected old ones replace with snaps on a screw stud. Will make future removal for next paint job a little trickier. Unless I remember what I did.
Thx man, I was able to find the proper size snaps at restoration specialties. The guy is super switched on! Filled in the holes and installed the snaps. Thx to Jason Edge for the recommendation!!
