I have a 64 and the timing is to far advanced  the vacuum advance hits the valve cover I think this is a result of my father in law having a timing chain put on years ago what is the best remedy ? Pull out housing and reposition it ? Also trying to figure out if maybe they installed the wires  wrong  where exactly should rotor be pointing on TDC ?  and is it possible if it was installed off  that the wires could of been moved on the cap  to make it run .have had this car 27 years and always runs hot and won't start till the engine cools down ( like it is to far advanced  haven't thrown a light on it yet I am doing my homework so when I tackle it I am prepared  I have seen the diagrams here but doesn't really show  clock position of rotor on tdc  any advise is appreciated

What one would be a 4 door hard top  62 Sedan ?

The 4 door would be a Sedan
The engine in 64 - WB a 429 and have the hydramatic trans behind it in the Sedan model
The 390 and 429 look the same in the engine bay as the internals of the 429 are stroked to increase cubic inches
There are 4 and 6 window Sedans in 64

If you post pictures --and what you are looking for regarding price -you may develope some interest in the car here -if seliing the car is the direction you choose to go with it

You might want to get it -road worthy and see if this is something you might enjoy to drive and continue to own and restore
These cars are a very unnique driving experiences
You might be very surprised at the attention and interest in these cars these days when out and about
The interest in the car will be --surprising once you get it out on the road and are using it to enjoy the day
Many will spend hours and dollars restoring a car like this ( which has its frustrating moments ) only to realize it is driving the car and the enjoyment it brings on so many levels that makes up for the blood sweet and tears that go into the restoration process
It does help a lot to be able to do a lot of the wrenching --youself And have the space tools and be willing to invest the time and money the hobby will requires

I hope someone can help solve these two electrical problems that appeared one after the other.

driveshaft help

can anyone help me with a driveshaft ? I have a 1963 Cadillac 62 series 4dr with the hydro-matic trans. I need the male splined shaft on the front of the rear driveshaft section. the piece with the nut attached by clip.id be willing to buy a shaft if its not horribly priced.

Dash removal

Hello everyone,

On a 63 CDV, if a guy wanted to remove the entire dash to get all the metal painted, and do some other things behind there, how would he go about doing that?  I checked here and the shop manual, but can't find a complete guide.
