Hi!

I have been playing this game some months already and would like to invite you all to join the fun!

My 64 Deville was in the middle of restoration when I got it, so I got 429 engine in parts, with dozens of small boxes full of various parts, bolts, nuts etc. Some of the boxes had notes about the content but most not.

attached photos are from parts which probably belong somewhere under the hood. If you identify the part, please let me know. You can guess as well of course. Winner gets big thanks and lots of admiration from fellow Cadillac fans!!

Car has AC and cruise and seems to be in original condition.

first image is starter wire holddown, attaches to head bolt above starter.
second is alternator slide and obvious ground wire.
third is spark plug divider bracket, bolts to carburetor and there is a plastic separator that attaches to the top of it when installed.

Wow, that was fast! Big thanks Mark!

i have the plastic separator for plug wires as well.

In the second photo on the right is a ground strap — I think the one from the back of the valve covers to the fire wall - one on each side of the engine

The part on the right is an alternator bracket that the top bolt of the alternator rides on to adjust its belt

The third picture as Mark points out is the bracket —-that gets a plastic ignition wire loom —on top of it to keep the ignition wires separated and in place

Enjoy

Hey Mark

We posted at the same time — only you knew what they all were — Bravo !

Enjoy

Trunk Open and Lock Mechanism is in Closed Position

Posted by Chris Anderson on September 13, 2022 at 7:14pm 7 Comments

While working on my trunk lock on 64 Cadillac, I mistakenly closed the locking mechanism while the trunk was open.  Is there an easy way to manually release the lock back to the open position?

Thanks.

Fuel Pump Failure

Posted by Jon Shields on August 6, 2022 at 6:48am 3 Comments

Hello,

I'm located in Melbourne, Australia and my 64 sedan de ville is stuck in the garage due to failed mechanical fuel pump. The first after market mechanical fuel pump lasted a few years before it failed & left me stranded 5 hours from home. A hire car and tow got us home. On inspection, I noticed a valve not seated within the housing. I was optimistic, pressed it into place and assumed the pump was good to go. But alas, no. From what I can now determine, the diaphragm pushrod…
