Factory AC clutch fan needed

Hi folks,My clutch fan died so I desperately need a new one. Unfortunately it will take a week or more to order from the usual suppliers so I am hoping someone on here has a manufacturer name and part number that they could share so I can try to source it from the local auto parts store. It's for a factory AC car. Thanks in advance for any leads.ChrisSee More

"The ones I have seen seem dry and brittle which happens over half a century. I would really love to find someone making new repros of the original style. I would just feel a little better about using them."

"The only thing that I would caution with the original glass bowl filter, do not over tighten the bail clamp. Over time,  that will warp the aluminum filter housing where the bail wire hooks into the placement notches. If you do have leakage…"

"Lee, The metal rim of the filter sits inside th recessed area of the metal filter housing. Then the rubber gasket goes on top, then the glass bowl. The rubber gasket keeps the filter in placed, and forms a seal between the metal base and the glass…"

"If this is new reproduction GF-97 (AC) and GF-200 (non-AC) that is fantastic it will give you the original look through the glass. If this is NOS old stock I would avoid it like COVID 19. That mesh becomes hard and brittle. I have several used and…"

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…
