Confusion on Pertronix

I know there's been a lot of discussion on the Pertronix upgrade install and benefits, but I've never converted off of points and still have a few questions.

1) Jason and others have mentioned that the distributor does not have to come out if using Pertronix III. However, from the videos and other info I've found online, it seems no one removes the distributor when upgrading to any Pertronix conversion kit.
