Correct strut rod bushings replacement

A quick question. Is there a difference in the bushing design from the 63-64 vs the 65 on up Cadillacs?

I am in need of some bushings and I've looked on RockAuto, and OPG, but I am confused because on the OPG website it list the bushings being the same for a 61 all the way up to a 76 Cadillac.

Caddy Daddy is insanely expensive and overpriced, so I am looking for alternatives.

Can I use the MOOG bushings part # K5184 for the 64?

Thanks.

Cool, I'll order those then. Both sides are trashed on mine, so they're desperately needed. I like MOOG parts for there quality, and they're fairly affordable compared to say Rare Parts which is probably made by the same company or even Raybestos but the prices are stupid high.

They look to be redesigned, as the fronts always failed. I run them, and have no problems at all. Put them on your car with no worries.

Ok thanks Russ.

Hey after looking at the shop manual, I see that the front bushings are different from the rears? Those Moogs look like the rear strut rod bushings, not the fronts, or can I use both of them for the fronts?

Thanks!

The master parts book shows that the 63-64 are the same, but 65 is different.  I did a quick search for the bushings, and rare parts came up.

I have a MOOG box  K6092 with new bushings in it. Check that PN out.

Lower Front End Ball Joints

Posted by Logan Robb on May 11, 2023 at 9:04am 7 Comments

Good Morning all!

I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…

1964 power steering sector rebuild

Posted by CHRIS CARLSON on March 20, 2023 at 11:32pm 3 Comments

I'm having my steering sector rebuilt, and considering changing it from 20-1 ratio 4.2 turns lock to lock to 3.5 turns lock to lock @ 16-1 ratio, If i change from a 3 1/4" box to a 3" box i could have a 14-1 Ratio steering response would be faster, shorter distance to turn the wheel to get a response,   has anyone done this? and how do you like it? thank you

I've looked at the usual rubber sources but couldn't find any.
