Well, I got my window trim to 'click in' - just had to beat the snot out of it!  On to the next project - Audio...

My head unit calls for 3 wires and a ground (that's easy)

One to Acc. - that's on the fuse block - already used it for the air suspension

One to constant hot - I guess its to keep the setting from vanishing when the car is just sitting.  Where is the best place to tap that source?

And one to 'illumination' -  I guess that's the interior light dimmer on the headlight switch.?  The first 2 should be simple - any suggestions on the easiest hook up for those?

The troubling one is the illumination.  Looking at the wiring diagram it appears to be the 18g B/W wire that comes from the headlight switch.  Is that the correct wire to tap?  And where might the best place to find and open area be?  If that's NOT the right wire can someone tell me which is?

The service manual that I have only lets me print pages - I can't zoom in on the switch and show a pic of JUST the switch or I would

Also, would it be worth my time to run a new wire from the antenna to my head unit?  It would be nice to have it raise when I power up the new system.  There are also provisions for that in my SONY unit.

Thanks for any help - as always, you guys are SUPER!!

Hey Mike so looking at the pictures you mounted the shocks in front of the front lower control arm if im right at least that would clear all the steering nuckles in the kit I got they say to mount them behind also why couldn't you use the original mounts in the rear?

I had to re locate them - it took a lot of thinking and several Re-Do's but it seems to work.  I used stock length shocks.  I also have pics of the rear.  Not as intense but still required some thought.

Here's some pics - doesn't really belong in a post about audio but 'what the heck'

Took it to a Show at PSU on Sunday.  Turned a lot of heads.  Its just a wee bit longer than those imports ;+)

Can hardly wait to start driving the hearse again. I picked up a ipod speaker, so I can have some toons in the car. It will be abit before I get to picking up a stereo system.

What exactly does the illumination wire do, to the stereo? I would just hook it up to the ACC

I have yet to power it up so I'm not 100% sure . I'm guessing it's function is to dim the unit as you dim the dash lights.  In a modern car these are usually installed in the dash - visible and prominent.  Mine is in the glove box so it might not matter.

If I tie the 2 together and wire it acc. i think it'll still work but just be bright all the time - no big deal?

The antenna is controlled by a push/pull switch, so hooking it up to a modern radio will not work. The antenna works on a 3 way switch. up/off/down.

The constant hot feed is on the fuse block. Just tap into a hot fuse. You can get the clips at radio shack, or just put the wire behind a fuse.

It took a little work but I found a way to cheat it....

My 1964 Cadillac electrical system is running around 17 volt which is to high, the alternator, battery and the voltage regulator was replaced but the voltage is still to high, could it be the pig tail that plugs into the voltage regulator.
