Thanks Jason. My 64 is my first Cadillac out of maaany cars. I'm pretty sure I overpaid but it's mine now. I just want it to be a nice dependable driver. The engine and trans have been rebuilt and it has been repainted at least once. Still has the original red leather interior and a white top. Currently in the process of replacing a lot of the floor and floor braces. I have had it on the road for a few months after replacing the fuel tank, lines, and pump. New radiator and complete brake system with discs up front to include a new booster and combination valve and stainless lines.
I just started on a restoration of my father's 1963 convertible. Searching the web for parts and information is what brought me to this group. The car has only been in my family since the day it rolled off the showroom floor. First my father's car, then my mother's when he passed, and now that mom has passed, it is mine. My dad bought the car brand new in July of '63' and I even have the original receipt for the purchase! The car has 22,006 original miles on it and has been garaged it's entire life. I am hoping to make this a driver and to get this beautiful land yacht back on the road before summer's end. Probably a long shot but hey, I figure I need goals (no matter how improbable).
So I am definitely at he very beginning of the project. I have the radiator out getting re-cored and the fuel tank getting cleaned and coated. The car runs but I don't think there is a single gasket or seal that's not leaking. Currently I am just trying to amass the obvious parts and get the information I need to keep the car original. I'm sure I'll be on here plenty looking for help, information and guidance so I can do this project right.
Thanks for welcoming me. I recently decided that this era is the next one I hope to add to my Caddy collection. I like the 60 specials and of course the Coupe DeVilles and convertibles. I have three model 314s from 1926 and 1927, two roadsters and a dual cowl phaeton. I believe these cars may be the largest intact collection of open Model 314s which were low production. It's been a 38 year effort to get this far with them (it all began in 1986 after a friend found them in Oklahoma. We bought them together but he bailed out as the restoration costs got higher than expected). I also have a 1965 model 62 convertible and a 1940 LaSalle 50 series special coupe. I look forward to meeting you at some point, perhaps at the Grand National? I plan to bring my 1927 Model 314 Roadster. Best regards. Mike
Thanks! I thought I had everything set up when I joined the CLC club-apparently I missed the email verification part, my bad! Thanks for getting me all signed up, I am happy to be here!
I cant wait for spring to roll around and get some more shots of this car!
Hope you're doing well today - I just left a message on your VM regarding some expansion plugs for a '63; specifically: rear cam plug, two threaded plugs for the rear oil galley, two front cup-style plugs, and the four plugs required to seal the rocker shaft ends. I understand you're busy - hope to hear from you soon.
I joined the Cadillac LaSalle club. It did not give me a membership nmuber, but it gave me a Database # of 59238258. I'd like to join the 1963/64 Cadillac Chapter.
Thanks Jason. I look forward to following you and adding anything of interest. I will do a write up as you requested and send you the photo file. Best..Tom

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
