Well, I headed down to Grill 57 in Garner about 30 minutes before the Cruise In was supposed to starter and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for renovations but should reopen soon. It was a bit of a bummer, but I got my Saturday back and decided it was time for a proper Pooch de Ville Cruise with my Yorkies Priscilla & Presley. I moved the 2 new pooch seats from the Escalade and put them in the 64 CDV and went for a very nice long weather. I even did some 1 fingered driving an a round-a-bout replete with bias ply tires and that crazy 75 series stabilizer bar that I will share later. First, thought, here are some pictures from today  .. with the Good Time Still Rolling... Pooch de Ville Style!!

Looks like a happy family. Do you feed them Cadillac Dog food?

No, they generally don't eat any brand "dog food". They eat mostly mixed veggies mixed with either Salmon or white chicken breast.  They often get DentaStix for treats.  We try to keep the kids healthy with good teeth.

That's a good approach. I did some research and it turns out that there are many things named Cadillac besides our favorite cars:

Excerpts from a legal decision when GM sued a boat company for selling a Cadillac brand boat.

(General Motors Corp. v. Cadillac Marine & Boat Co., 226 F. Supp. 716 (W.D. Mich. 1964)

The name "Cadillac" derives its historical origin from the explorer-soldier Antoine de Mothe Cadillac, who was born in 1660 and died in 1720. It was through him that the name "Cadillac" was first introduced upon the North American Continent, and in the territory around Wayne County and Detroit. Since that time that name "Cadillac" has been continuously appropriated and used as the name of sites for parks, forts, squares, streets, cities and lakes, as well as the name of businesses, enterprises and products. Cadillac Square in Detroit bears the name; streets in both the cities of Detroit and Cadillac also bear the name.

***

The word "Cadillac" has been registered as part of a trade-mark in the *724 Patent Office for use on various products by many persons or businesses other than the plaintiff. The name is registered in block, script, and with and without the Cadillac family seal. The products range from dog food, aluminum furniture, writing paper, binoculars, combination storm and screen sashes, sausage, ham, bacon, lard and cheese, shoes, cigars, sewing machines, rubber stamps, steel embossing marking dies, hand marking machines, vacuum cleaners, blowtorches, air blowers and furnaces, stainless steel flatware, wines, women's and children's dresses, cosmetics and other items.

Please give your pooches a pat on the head for me.

Lucky dogs!  I did not get to ride in a car like that until I was over 30 years old!!

Michael, they don't do too bad. Their other main ride is in the Escalade,.... or what I often call the Pooch-Scalade. I just need to find some Lassie reruns for the DVD headset players!

Michael, maybe someone can fabricate those seats to fit you?  ;-)

They are rather nice! I will put them on the wish list and hope for the best.

Great idea, thanks Anders. :)

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
