The trumpet was on the 63 Eldorado's cars. I got one off a 63 Eldo years ago and a friends 63 Eldo had one on it as well.

Hard to evaluate the parts condition  if covered in stuff

A quick cleaning would improve buyers motivation that alone would make it a wise choice

Enjoy

I agree completely on the cobwebs. If you're going to pick it up and photograph it, isn't that enough reason to wipe it down?

I call it cobwebs! Patina is what you are left with when you brush off the dust, dirt and cobwebs! LOL

Jason, I think that's what they call patina nowdays!

Got to add, does it really take that much effort to run a wet rag across the horn and at least knock the cobwebs & dust off! At least they took some pictures of it.

Looks like the 64 short trump horn. Not used in 1963, but no reason you cannot add it.
63 did have long trumpet horn - part # 199 9947  (Stamped 947 on rim of horn, B-Flat Note), that was standard on Eldorados and dealer installed option on other body styles.

I had seen it too. It's not the Holy Grail one or I would have bought it. Oh well, I'll keep searching.

Bad Guage?

Posted by Karl Schwarz on August 26, 2020 at 3:08pm 6 Comments

So I am troubleshooting my fuel gauge issue. I bought a new sender and tested it. It  it goes from 1-ohm (empty) to 35-ohm (full). When I test it (outside the tank), when the float is in the up (full) position it only moves the gauge to about 1/2 full. When at the bottom (empty) position the gauge shows empty. This is the same issue I have when I fill and then use the gas in the tank - the gauge never reads ore than half full. Based on what I've read on this thread it would seem like the…
