A Call Out to CLC Members for 1964 Cadillac Newsletter Cover Stories

So far this year we have covered the 6239, and 6357 1964 body styles in our look at each body style during the 1964 model year's 50th anniversary.

I have stories promised for the following body styles: 6257, 6267, 6339, and 6039, however all are tentative until I receive the stories with pictures.

That leaves an open invitation to our CLC members to provide cover stories for the following body styles:

6229 - 6 Window Series 62 Sedan
6329 - 6 Window Sedan DeVille
6367 - Eldorado
6723 - 75 Series Sedan
6733 - 75 Series Limo
6890 - Commercial Chassis

If you would like to submit a cover story, it can be 4 to 8 pages with pictures embedded or maybe 800 to 1600 words, however, it can be a  shorter or longer if needed. My story in the March issue was 2400 words as I did a 2 part piece so we can vary length as needed!  I prefer that it be created and submitted in MS Word. You can embed the pictures where you want them or send pictures separately and I can place them in the story (usually the way it happens).  I do need hi res pictures to embed in the story, especially a full view for the cover shot!

We are jumping around the  body styles and not going in a particular order and can put you in wherever you like. We should have a feature cover story ready for April, so will have an open slot as early as the May issue, meaning I would need story and pictures by first of May.

If you want to to show off your 1964 Cadillac and have one of these body styles here is your chance to shine!  If you are firmly committed to writing a story and have pictures to include please email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com.   Having submitted my car for the 6357 spotlight this past month, I will have to say writing and featuring one's car is very rewarding. Next year we will go back to a  mix of both years so those of  you with 1963's can be honing your stories also!!

So..if you want to join the elite, but growing, group of cover features as seen below, get that article written and submitted as we continue to Celebrate the 1964 Cadillac All Year as we did the 1963's last year.

Just to add, I now have a fantastic story with pictures for the 6267 convertible. It will be one of the best stories and covers ever!

Richard was earmarked for a chapter cover story for our newsletter however he has submitted an article to Steve Stewart for the Self Starter so we may be referencing two Richard Stanley articles when we feature the 6367 body style.

For anyone that missed it here is the cover of the Feb 2008 Self Starter with Richard's Eldorado gracing the cover:

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
