Can anyone advise me about my carpet.  I have a 64 CDV with midnight blue carpet.  It appears to be original and when I look at suppliers carpet kits they are a loop pile.  My appearently original carpet looks more like a plush type pile.  Can anyone tell me what the correct carpet should be, and any recommendations of a good suppier for carpet kits  Thanks Kevin in Tampa

All the details regarding original cut and material used for carpet is posted in Carpet link on help page. Carpets used were different between model years and body styles. For example in 1964 Coupe DeVilles had cut pile, however, 62 Series Coupes had loop pile ... Regardless of options.

Most of them have the carpet tag under the front section. They are pretty cool as they have part #, color code, body styles and date code. Here is the one from the 64 Convertible I just parted out:

The 1964 originally came with Tremont quality, rayon-nylon, cut pile. In 1964 the 62 series came with the loop pile.

You can see Carpets Used in 1963 & 1964 Cadillacs at http://6364cadillac.ning.com/profiles/blogs/carpets-used-in-1963-19....   Youl will see a link to this and many other useful pages on our Help Topics page (see link up top).

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
