Self-Starter article on the 429 engine series

I would like to obtain a copy of the Self-Starter's article on the 429 engine series.  I think it was originally published in the July 2003 edition.  Does anyone have a copy to share or any ideas of how to obtain a copy?

Thank you.

I remember your concerns concerning the engine identification for 1964 as set forth in the article.  I have still have your comments (somewhere).  I intend to scan the article.  Perhaps we can see it it is then appropriate to post it or preserve it. I would like to do the same for the manuals.

I have it.  Pretty decent article as I recall but there were a couple of minor corrections I sent in after reading it that appeared a couple months later.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
