Just a quick update, I have since applied 2 coats of POR-15 Chassis Black to these front body to frame mount boxes ... but more importantly took the deep dive and have started cleaning the undercarriage to eventually treat everything with the POR-15 product. I started with the right rear floor pan as it is easiest to get to and will share more probably starting tomorrow. The POR-15 is great stuff, but is oil based, gives off strong fumes, and takes a few days to really cure... but worth the wait. More later!

Just to note, I ordered the POR-15 Gloss Black Top Coat direct from the company as Amazon only had it in pint size, and they sent me this 10% off link to share.  Here is the link: https://por15.refr.cc/default/u/jasonedge64?s=sp&t=cp

Ps. The gold cad on your car looks great!!  Definitely in a different league vs a car with everything just painted over!!

Yep, that is the chassis black. I ordered a quart of it and the gloss black.  I’m doing 2 coats of rust prevention coating then 1 top coat. Will have to wait a couple days for top coat to get here. For items I can remove I will still go the Rustoleum engine primer & paint route. Always loved the finish.

This what I have been using

I like the protective coating but is a duller, greyer black than I am use to so I ordered the POR 15 Chassis Black Top Coat. Did you also use the POR Top Coat, and if so are you using the chassis black ir gloss black or both? I’m thinking chassis black on floor pan and gloss black on frame to match what I started.  I knew it was good stuff but was use to the glossier Rustoleum engine paint I had used on parts of the frame.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
