Ignition Resistor Wire Purpose, Ignition Switch Circuit

Sunday we had a very detailed discussion in our Zoom meet-up on the resistor wire and the cranking and ignition system, I consulted ChatGPT and gave it the 1963 Shop manual and asked (prompted) with a couple of basic questions and it came up with a nice concise explanation. The first question was regarding the purpose of the resistance wire which reiterated our discussion. The one thing we really didn’t dive into was the ACC (accessory) position on the ignition switch, so I threw that in for good measure.

I also had it route the circuit in Run & Start ignition switch positions then in Accessory ignition switch position using another complete 1963 wiring schematic I had handy. I thought this also produced good results and worth sharing and have attached the two schematics. I will also add these to our website Help Page.
