I have a limited slip diff and want to strip it from the case and send it out for powder coating. The axles are out, the brake plates are off, but I have not figured out how to get the guts out of the pumpkin. Most have caps, unbolt the caps and it drops out, but these are different. I assume they press in, but how do you get them out?

I have the similar problem. In my garage the old axle is dismantled and in the same stage as yours. Haven't found any solution and is thinking of ditching it as I have a good replacement fitted on the car.
A "G" controlled diff is much more valuable, so if yours was okay before you took it apart, maybe you should reconsider and assemble it again. Hoping its still okay.
In the manual page 11-3 its stated that special lubricant is needed for "G" axles, so keep that in mind. Same thing is stated on 2-3 upper right hand side, so it does look like its something the factory thought important.
Page 11-10 in the manual:
When I had my replacement rear axle blasted and painted it went in as a complete unit and areas where there should not be any sand/paint was covered with tape or a rag. Do remember to cover the "breathing hole" on top (yellow arrow).
Thanks, I think it is in good shape, I may just put it back together and let it go. Generally I would like to do any repairs before I go through the labor to put the part in the car. I do not like replacing the same part twice, so I tend to rebuild it if I touch it.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
