I have noticed that when i fill up the 63 cdv at the end of the fill up, it overflows from the front of the tank out of that overflow tube,,
leaves a big mess on the cement . is it supposed to overflow like that??

Yes its does in my 64 Fleetwood too its normal
Mine doesnt, but I have replaced the hose and made sure the "goose beck" is in the correct position
Should be neck. Autocorrect is sometimes not so excellent.
One thing you can do is get the shorter mid production 64 filler neck. It was to accommodate the new gas pump nozzles I believe. It is covered in a 64 service bulletin. The filler neck is about 1 inch shorter so you can get the nozzle completely into the filler neck.
I have them if you want one. email me at russ85747@hotmail.com
i guess my vernacular was off,, i meant that the gas come s out of the tank from the hose on the tank at the front end of the tank, not at the filling end at the rear of the car. your explanation sounds more like what i have experienced,, i have seen the tube when crawling around under there, so i know where it is.
is it a standard sized rubber hose,, is it attached with some sort of clamp??
If its leaking when filling the car, it will also leak during driving from sloshing. And consider leaking fuel in an accident. So maybe this should be a priority for you.
Can be a bit tricky to get to. You might have to drop the tank a bit. Suggest you empty as much as possible and then slowly lower the tank. If you really want to do it right.
Remove the tank.
Clean it inside and out.
Etch the tank and apply the sealer. (Bill Hirsch has a good kit).
Paint the tank on the outside.
Replace the sand filter on the sending unit and the gasket.
Replace sending unit if corroded.
Replace grounding wire.
Replace all rubber hoses including the dual fuel lines.
Refit.
Now it should be no smell, no leak, no worry.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
