my pump has gone out again in 63, 390. I dont know why, either too tight a belt or something else, been 2 or three since rebuild and 13k miles.. it was a gates unit.  it seems for a while the cordone unit was the only one out there with the enclosed impeller but apparently, they are no longer available anywhere, even there company site doesn't list them.  While searching, I found that rock auto now has a supplier with the enclosed impeller,  https://www.usmotorworks.com/catalog/ through rock auto.. may give it a try,, anyway, its just for info as the enclosed impeller has been hard to come by, not sure it makes a difference, but I think its what was on the original motors..

Hey Kim probably Chinese made junk

The enclosed impeller is what was on the original water pumps.  What are you putting in your radiator?  The coolant acts as a lubricant for the water pump.

I used on of the 50/50 antifreeze  products out there,

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
