Hello All! I’m struggling to find an answer to this question, hoping a member can help. Can I swap the crankshaft from a 1966 429 w/TH400 to my 1964 429 w/TH400 trans? I came across an article that…Continue

1964 TH400 Torque Converter?

Hey guys! I’m back with another question lol. I noticed some vibration under acceleration while not moving that I suspect may be coming from the torque converter, so I’m looking to replace it while I have my engine out. Seems like a good idea, but I’m having trouble locating a new or rebuilt converter. I found this one below (link) at AutoZone that says it fits my 1964 Cadillac Deville (429 engine w/TH400 trans) however while reading the description it states for flat top bell housing, but my…See More

"Thank you for the feedback Jason! I found that the connecting rods, rod bearings, and main bearings all appear to be the same from 64 thru 66, so I’m wondering what could be different about the cranks between those years. Perhaps it’s…"

"As far as crankshafts I can only confirm that the Master Parts Book lists a different cranks shaft between 64-65 vs 66-67. I am not sure what the difference is. If you cannot find a crankshaft I can put you down for one on my Wait List. I would also…"

Swapping 429 engine crankshafts

Hello All! I’m struggling to find an answer to this question, hoping a member can help. Can I swap the crankshaft from a 1966 429 w/TH400 to my 1964 429 w/TH400 trans? I came across an article that said that the flywheels are the same but the bolt spreads are slightly different. If that is the case, can I swap the flywheels too. I do have both flywheels.Backstory: I rebuilt the engine recently after it sat for 30-40 years, then drove the car about 4 miles and spun the #8 rod bearing. Now the…See More

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
