Door Lock Knobs used on 63 & 64 Cadillacs

Just had an email question about door lock knobs and thought I would post what I know on the website for reference and link to from our Help Topics page.

See picture at bottom for reference:

On the 63 & 64 parts cars (and one 65 75 series) and driver cars I’ve found the following for door lock knobs:

- Plastic matching the darker interior trim color on 62 series (far left in picture)

- Chrome for DeVilles, Fleetwoods and Eldorado’s (2nd from left in picture and most abundant due to production #’s)

- 75 series: they are thicker but have pulled them off both in chrome (3rd from left) and light grey plastic (far right). I’ve parted 2 1964 75 series sedans (6723), one 1964 75 series limo (6733), and one 1965 75 series sedan (69723).  I did not record which lock knobs came off which 75 series so not sure if they are for a particular year or a difference between the 6723 and 6733.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
