Turned it,same result.Unhooked from relay and made jumper wires, works manually just fine now
Just to make sure no rock is unturned .... did you turn the Guidematic control to the "off" position? To turn off rotate the sensitivity control knob (Fig 12-99 in shop manual) all the way to the left to the Off position. The dimmer switch should then operate as a manual switch. This might sound like a silly question but have hear at least 2 occasions over the years where the owner was simply not turning the switch far enough to the left to the off position which opens a circuit to the guidematic system.
thanks for the help Russ
I think you have to use the same type dimmer switch. That is if you have guidematic, you need to use the guidematic switch with side connector or bypass everything. If you need one, I have Very Good used ones for $5 + s/h. Shoot me an email to jasonedge@nc.rr.com
can you explain why my lights stay on bright with dimmer switch hooked up or not

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
