All 63 Cadillacs came with the Hydra-matic transmission.

Per shop manual at very front in Fig 1-1, there is a transmission unit number plate located on lower left hand corner of the transmission case rear facing.  For all body styles except 75 series and commercial chassis cars it will begin with a C-63-......  The 75 series and CC body styles have a heavy duty hydramatic and will begin with a CA-63......

64's came with either the Hydramatic with shift pattern PND1D2LR and ID C-64..... or CA-64 or the Turbo Hydramatic with shift pattern PRNDL and had a black ID plate on right side with C and D or C and F above the serial #.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
