No one?

Hi Markus,

I just installed these side rubber weatherstrips on my 1964 Coupe Series 62 this past winter.  To do it right, remove the windshield wiper arms and the chrome oval pieces under the arms (they are turned out with a screwdriver and small hammer counterclockwise), then remove the chrome grills from the cowl (small allen key screws) and remove washer hoses from the washer jets.  The next thing is to remove the cowl completely.  On my 64, there are screws and shims that hold it in place.  There are also two hidden bolts that must come out.  You can remove the small metal panels on each inside of the front doors.  They are simple to remove (two small bolts).  You will then see the two small bolts (one on each side) that go in upside down, holding the cowl on the ends.  Carefully remove the cowl up and set aside.  Scrape off any old residue of the old side rubbers and use a BLACK 3M adhesive to set the new side rubbers.  Let the rubbers adhere for a couple of days to set.  You will see the indents on the rubbers where the cowl sits on top of for a perfect fit.  To see a great picture of it, go to the HELP section on the chapter website.  Jason Edge shows how they rest on the cowl.  They must be set a certain way.  When you glue them, lay something on each rubber (something moderately heavy) so they don't move.  Then reverse steps and put the cowl back, etc., etc.  I hope this helps you.  My email is ddibari56@gmail.com.

You are very welcome!  Need anything, just email me.  If you do the job, be careful to glue the new side rubbers on end, as only a thin part of the rubber actually touches the area.  Only use Black cement as you can be liberal around the edges, so they adhere!

Let me know.

Marcus,

Let me know if you do the side cowl rubber on your Caddy.  I would like to know how they turned out.

Hi Dennis, yes i let you know.

OK.  Good luck Markus.  You can do this, step by step!

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
