WTB: 1963 Double Cardan CV Ball Socket Repair Kit (NEAPCO 2-9303)

Looking to buy the -now seemingly obsolete (?)- NEAPCO 2-9303 double cardan CV joint repair kit for my 63 SdV.

Anyone here who has one for sale or knows about an equivalent?

Hi Mark, I was searching for these a while back and found this on eBay (see link below). I can’t confirm fitment as I didn’t end up proceeding with the repair.

Please reply back here if you confirm this is the correct part. I suspect a driveshaft repair shop could possibly find the part as well.

Hope this helps, good luck! -Jacob

Hi Jacob,

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve seen this set too, but what I’m looking for is something like this, only with a single, shorter spring (Rockford 403-01). This type has been discontinued by producer and now they’re very hard to find. Haven’t heard of an equivalent/alternative, so if I can’t find a set I will have the complete rear cv joint replaced.

Is it the back CV joint that is bad? You can get them new.

That's what I suspect is wrong. Next week I have an appointment with a drivetrain shop and hopefully they can tell me exactly what the problem is.

So....replaced tranny mount (collapsed) but left shims out. Car vibrations. Seems low revs, higher torque, more vibration. 1st gear , second gear, etc

Put shims in tranny mount, and vibrations, plus a knocking under load.

Took shims out, lots of RUMBLE. Took driveshaft out. Seemed OK. Back cvu has SNAP action. Front u joint isn't loose....

Driveshaft? And were parts? In Toronto so looking for good shop.....

Where to get new rear cv as per russ Austin...

drive%20shaft%20new%20parts%20spec%20sheet.jpg  get with your local drive shaft shop or do a google search. these are the part numbers for the pieces.

Nice info. Thanx

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
