Does anybody have any issues with their stock power antenna & radio? My power antenna quit on me , it was working fine , checked all connections on radio & antenna nothing found. the plastic whip on the antenna is fine , jumped the wire on the antenna and it goes up and down. any idea's? I'm guessing it in the radio.

Checked it , fuse is good.
Unplug the connector on radio and make sure antenna feed connector has 12 volts with ignition on. It would be on the brown wire (see Fig 12-116 R-Radio Connector if you have a shop manual). That would at least let you know you are getting 12 volts to the radio antenna feed. From there, check the connectors on the radio for the antenna up and then antenna down connections pushing and then pulling the antenna control know. If your antenna feed is getting 12 volts to radio, and you are not getting the 12 volts to the up connector/down connector you know it is something in the radio probably related to the push/pull radio knob and antenna relay/switch mechanism. It has been long time since I looked at how that actually works but do not remember it being too complex.
I have 12 volts going to the radio, its got to be something in the up and down knob mechanism in the radio, bench tested the antenna , it works excellent
Just to be 100% clear, there are two 12 volt feeds at the radio connector - one for the radio, one for the antenna. If you are getting 12 volts on radio feed but none on the antenna feed at connector antenna will not work.
Try spraying some electrical contact cleaner into the switch. If that doesn't do it, I have good used switches.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
