Paint Fix

Hi Everybody,

In the attached JPEG is a scratch I picked up in October 2016 on one of the last rides of the season by a truck going the opposite way on a 2 lane road. You would have thought someone hurt my kids. Anyway, it is on the front drivers front fender above the trim piece. Any ideas on how to make it look respectable without painting the entire fender?

sand to feather the edges. Color match the paint, and lay down some primer and paint with a air gun.

Hi Tony the scratch is 1/2 inch long 1/8in wide

Hi Tom If you go to a good auto paint supplier they should have a camera that they put up against the exsiting paint and take a picture which they can match the color on your car. You could take them a fender skirt if easier and they can mix a small sample for you to touch up your scratch. I did this on a fender skirt and it matched amazingly well. Try it on a sample first. Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
