I have started posting some of my car pictures from the 2023 Albuquerque Grand National to the 63/64 Cadillac Chapter Facebook Page in separate albums by model year range. Here are the 1st 3 sets I have posted.  I will post more in the near future. Our Facebook Page is public so you should be able to view them. If not, I will have many in our upcoming Chapter Newsletter.  I will update this post as I add more sets of pictures.

I'm sitting in a hotel in Oklahoma City gradually making my way back to North Carolina from the fantastic grand national. I have  started loading some pictures to our Facebook Page at this link --> Click Here.

Drove my 2013 Escalade EXT to Sandia Crest this morning. At 10,679 feet this Cadillac was on top of the world … or at least the Sandia Mountains. This is all part of the fun at our 2023 CLC Grand National in Albuquerque.

Delivered gas tank to customer and website member Jerry Beckel in Fort Worth TX area about 4 hours ago and at hotel nearby for a last stop before the last long drive to Albuquerque tomorrow. Jerry had a neat place with a few muscle cars, trucks, an old Falcon and his 63 Park Avenue seen in these pictures.

I have made it to  Orange TX to my uncles on the way to Grand National with no issues and smooth sailing in the Escalade. This was my 3rd family stop since Saturday, and will head to Dallas and Fort Worth tomorrow to deliver a gas tank, stay the night then on to Albuquerque. I will post updates here and on our Facebook page when I get to GN.

Time has literally flown by getting ready for the long drive out the Albuquerque. I have Et2Brute, my 2013 Escalade EXT, about like I want it. I received my midgate lower hinge assembly today and installed and mid gate folds down with the cover sliding down and cover as it is supposed to. the console rear cover is incorrect and different from the regular Escalade cover. I spend a lot of time with Cadillac Parts department and their system incorrectly points to the same part for both vehicles but it is different.
Enough about the Escalade, the cool thing is I am about to go meet some of our Chapter Members in person for the first time. Some will have cars on hand, but more importantly I will get to hang out with them.  Our Chapter Meet-Up should be well attended and have some surprises in store for our members.  Maybe some of you that could not go to this year's Grand National can join us in Gettysburg, PA next year!

I have been doing a lot of maintenance and cleaning on the 2013 Escalade EXT to get ready for the drive from NC to NM for the 2013 Grand National. Next year the plan is to finally take the 1964 Coupe de Ville Dino to Gettysburg. I have a lot to do to get ready, but hope I will have it ready.

Here are some things I have done to the 2013 EXT in the last week:
- replace radiator - small leak
- flush & replace coolant
- flush & replace transfer case oil
- new transmission filter, gasket & fluid
- new outer tie rods
- front end alignment
- rotate tires
- replace broken left rear lock box cover hinge
- new center console top lid cover
- replace almost all split wire loom in the engine compartment.
- new brake rotors and pads, and one caliper
- deep clean interior and exterior.
- Meguiars Ultimate Compound Polish on all painted areas (will finish up today when I do door jambs)

Still to do:
- On Order Arriving tomorrow to replace: midgate lower hinge cover
- On Order arriving tomorrow to replace: Console rear cover with AC/Heat Vents (vents broke on one side)
- Meguiars Ultimate Wax on all painted areas
- lean chrome wheels.
- may go under the vehicle for more cleaning and detailing. It is pretty clean and this is just being judged in Touring so don't really need it perfect just clean.
- and with a 2400 mile trip, I will be doing a lot of recleaning once there.

This is again a precursor to next year when I hope to take the 64.

I sent out an email to all Chapter Member yesterday asking who will be attending the Albuquerque Grand National and so far we have a dozen going and expect more. As fun as it is to join up on the website, or the monthly Zoom meet-up, there is nothing like in person get togethers!  If you are not a member of the CLC, sign-up today and come join the fun in Albuquerque and attend our Chapter Meet-Up Thursday, June 22.
