1964 Heater Core Replacement Question-Non AC

Just a quick question about the Heater Assembly. I have been following the manual, but still have a question. I have the glove box removed, the bowden cables taken off, and the section under the hood removed. I am having difficulty in seeing where the Heater assembly is attached. Once this is taken down, I will have access to the old core. Any info or pics on this would be much appreciated.

Perhaps the above picture may be helpful..maybe not, or some of the others in our AC/Heat Photo album linked to from our Help Page. I will try to find some better heat only pictures and post. I have changed out my heater core on my 64 CDV with AC/Heat Comfort control some 10+ years ago but it has the evaporator to the right so is a bit different. When I part a car out the entire dash is out of the car and front clip is off the car so I literally just walk up to it and unbolt it.

I would suggest checking out John Serfling's article in our Sept 2012 Newsletter where describes (quite humorously at times) his adventure with his heater core change out. Click Here for the link.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
