Cowl cap

Does anybody know what the deal is with the caps under the cowl? I was cleaning out a mouse nest and found that the passenger side cap was cracked open. What are they there for? Does anybody have a replacement for sale?

Comment by Jason Edge on December 1, 2016 at 12:15pm: You are talking about the large plastic cap under the cowl to right center in this picture. I am not quite sure what they are for. Perhaps to facilitate construction of car. If it is for other maintenance in the shop manual I have missed it. I do hove a box full of these. I I an pick put a very nice one for $5 and ship for a couple bucks 1st class if you want a nice one.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
