Cowl cap

Does anybody know what the deal is with the caps under the cowl? I was cleaning out a mouse nest and found that the passenger side cap was cracked open. What are they there for? Does anybody have a replacement for sale?

Perhaps to facilitate construction of car. If it is for other maintenance in the shop manual I have missed it. I do hove a box full of these. I I an pick put a very nice one for $5 and ship for a couple bucks 1st class if you want a nice one.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
